Te Kiwi Māia – The Courageous Kiwi
Rebecca was inspired to create Te Kiwi Māia after visiting Tedworth House, an incredible facility in England run by the charitable organisation Help for Heroes. When she returned to New Zealand and started talking about her idea, it soon became clear that first responders/emergency services face similar challenges with the wellbeing of their people and would also benefit from this initiative.
Te Kiwi Māia Mission – “Providing rehabilitation, recovery and respite to our people, who – as a result of their role in safeguarding and caring for New Zealanders – have physical or psychological injuries. We enable our people and their families to continue healthy, positive lives.” – https://www.tekiwimaia.co.nz/
Rebecca is a big supporter of Poppy Day and is an active member of the Devonport RSA where she currently sits on the Poppy Trust Board.
Rebecca was the main co-ordinator of the clean up at O’Neills Cemetery in Devonport, Auckland as part of the Remembrance Army. An amazing charity cleaning up our fallen graves around New Zealand. Please follow the link to find out how you can help in your local area.
